The Parents and Grandparents (PGP) immigration program will start accepting applications again in January, with new eligibility criteria for sponsors, and a cap of 5,000 applications per year.
The cap is being put in place to allow for the elimination of the existing backlog and prevent future backlogs. More information, new application forms, and instruction guides for the redesigned PGP program, will be made available in the coming weeks. Contact Pace Immigration for more information.
CTV reports that the Canadian government will be fast-tracking visa applications for Filipinos affected by Typhoon Haiyan:
The Canadian government announced last week that consular officials are working around the clock to process visa applications submitted by Filipinos, as well as to assist Canadians in the country who may have lost travel documents or have other needs.
