Amr is a Lawyer with 31 years of local and international legal experience in the areas of dispute settlement and litigation. He was a senior partner in the corporate law firm of Abdel Motaal, Moharram and Heiza (founded in Cairo, Egypt in 1926) and he acts as counsel and legal advisor to both Egyptian and international private and public entities.
Abdel has worked in both Civil Law and Shari'a Law systems and is fluent in 3 languages - Arabic, French and English. With his international work and background in comparative legal systems, Abdel also has extensive experience of the Common Law system. Abdel is a member of the World Bank Dot Force Consultations and a legal resource for both UNITAR - the UN Cyber Law initiative, and the WHO for "e-health" legal issues.
Amr was educated at the Jesuit College in Cairo and Cairo University Law School. He has been a member of the Bar since 1974 and is the author of numerous legal treatises and documents. Since coming to Canada, Amr is Pace Law Firm's Special Advisor for Egypt and is a board member for several associations, including the Canada Egypt Business Council.
