Melanie Appelt began her career in immigration with the federal government in the province of Quebec in 2002. She served as Senior Immigration Officer at Canada's two busiest air ports of entry, Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport in Montreal and Lester B Pearson Airport in Toronto. Determining admissibility for such a diverse clientele seeking entry into the country gives her unique insights into immigration matters.
She is also familiar with the immigration appeals process, gained during her time as a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment Officer. In the pursuit of new challenges, Melanie has taken the skills acquired while working in the government's various Immigration programs and has brought them to the private sector at Pace Law Firm. She works on all types of immigration matters, with a focus on cases involving inadmissibility, including criminal, security, and medical. She is fluently bilingual in French and English.
