The Québec provincial government has announced a roll-back for the minimum requirements of the Québec Experience Program (PEQ).
PEQ candidates, once again, will be assessed based on the criteria that existed before the November 1 revisions. The reversal, effective November 14, 2019, was announced by Immigration Minister Simon Jolin-Barrette.
Immigration Minister Jolin-Barrette suspended the November 1st changes due to public outcry from stakeholders. Such changes were to introduce an areas of training list for the graduate stream of the PEQ, and a list of targeted National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes for the temporary worker stream.
Jolin-Barrette expressed to consult with stakeholders before further revising the areas of training and targeted NOC codes lists in the future.
